Innovation Born from Experience

The idea for our revolutionary modular and removal fencing system was born out of necessity during one of life’s most challenging moments. While residing in Florida, our founders endured two devastating hurricanes back-to-back, forcing them to replace their aluminum fence, not once, but twice within a 16-month period. Each time, they returned after evacuating their home to find their fence destroyed and scattered, reminding them that traditional fencing wasn’t built to withstand extreme weather.

Then came the pivotal “what if” moment:

What if a fence could be quickly lowered or removed?

How would that work during a storm surge?

Leveraging his extensive background in engineering and technology, Dr. Charles Brown took this challenge head-on and conceptualized an alternative to traditional decorative aluminum fencing. This new design would not only provide superior functionality but also offer unparalleled hurricane and storm surge resistance.

Elizabeth Abe, an expert in environmental science, stormwater management, and erosion control, immediately recognized the practicality and necessity of this design. Together, they pursued a patent and turned their vision into reality.

Clearly, Storm Surge Fencing, Inc. was born out of necessity.
